Afterlife Study Series

Anyone who is interested is welcome to join us for our ongoing series, “The Afterlife: Multi-faith and Multi-disciplinary Perspectives.”

Please join Community Interfaith Educator, Harold Rosen, and our group as we engage in a monthly exploration of the afterlife. In this six-session series, we meet via Zoom once a month on Wednesdays from 7 – 8:30pm Pacific time to examine:

– How do the major religious cultures of our world address the issue of Life After Death?

– How do these beliefs and practices compare to the findings of Near-Death Experience Research?

– What light do these views and investigations cast on the Purpose of This Life in general, and the Meaning of Our Lives, in particular?

These sessions are open to all, both members and non-members alike.

The schedule is:

Session 1 – Introduction, Near-Death Experiences, and Indigenous Beliefs. You can watch the recording here.

Session 2 – South Asian Beliefs and Practices, including from Hinduism, Buddhism, and the Sikh tradition. You can watch the recording here.

Session 3 – East Asian Beliefs and Practices, including from Confucianism, Taoism, and the Shinto tradition. You can watch the recording here.

Session 4 – Middle Eastern Beliefs and Practices, including from Zoroastrianism and Islam. You can watch the recording here.

Session 5 – Western Beliefs and Practices, including from Judaism, Hellenism, and Christianity. You can watch the recording here.

Session 6 – Wed, Feb 8th from 7-8:30pm PST. (Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87687222579) Contemporary Beliefs and Practices, including Spiritual But Not Religious and the Baha’i Faith. There will also be a final course review.

A donation of $100 for the series or $12 per session is recommended; however, all are welcome, regardless of payment.

Participants are invited to join for one, a few, or all of the sessions – whichever sparks their interest and works for them.

The scheduling of our events is always taken seriously, and we strive to offer gatherings at times that will be convenient and beneficial to as many people as possible. However, we are not always able to schedule around all tradition’s holidays and celebrations, as there are so many. For this reason, we will be recording all these sessions so folks can watch whichever ones they are unable to attend.  Thank you, in advance, for understanding.
